Andrea Nacach was born in Buenos Aires in 1975, and she has been living in Barcelona since 2002. Photography is the core of her work, which is developed in different formats: book/object (Familia, 2005; $42,75 NYC-BCN, 2008), photographic series (Séptimo Piso, 2006), photographic object (Paloma, 2001), video (Verano del 2050, 2006) and installation (Behavior, 2006-2007). In 1997, she received from Antorchas Foundation the «Upgrading Fellowship in the artistic use of Internet and multimedia». The following year, she received a joint fellowship from Rockefeller Foundation, Antorchas Foundation and the National Center of the Arts in Mexico to produce a digital photography project (In-cierto, 1999), which was later exhibited in the photo gallery of the Teatro General San Martín in Buenos Aires. In 1999 she received the «Fund for Creation and Audiovisual Media» from the Arts National Fund in Argentina.
Since 2002 she has been collaborating with the Catalan artist Antoni Muntadas in various projects, most notably the publication of the catalog Muntadas, On Translation: I Giardini, a publication that accompanied the sample of the same name organized by the Spanish Pavilion at the 51st Venice Biennale and the co-coordinating the catalog and the exhibition «Entre/Between» held at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, 2011.
In 2005 she published the book/photographic object Familia, which was presented in 2006 in the Spanish Cultural Center of Buenos Aires and the gallery Space Other in Boston. The piece was included in several permanent collections, among which are the New York Public Library and Centro-Museo Vasco de Arte Contemporáneo de Vitoria in Spain and others.
In 2007 he took part in «Barcelona Toolbar», Centro Cultural Matucana 100 (Santiago de Chile) and is selected to participate in «The (S) Files 007», organized by the 5th Biennial Museo del Barrio in New York and «Art Agora», at the Cervantes Institute in that city. In 2008 she exposes her video installation Behavior in La Capella, at the Virreina Exposicions (Barcelona), as part of the show group «Do not believe them / No els creguis / No les crease». That same year she shows REVOLVER, in a solo exhibition at the VVV Gallery (Buenos Aires). In 2009 she takes part of ArteBA'09 (Buenos Aires) and the XXVIII ARCO International Contemporary Art Fair (Madrid) with a computerized audiovisual installation in a collaborative work with the artist Ivan Marino: Metronome # 1.
In 2010 participates in the «Synergies: current Latin American Art in Spain» project at the Museo Extremeño e Iberoamericano de Arte Contemporáneo (MEIAC) in Badajoz and at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Gas Natural Fenosa (MACUF) in A Coruña. During the same year he participated in «Metamorphosis of the book 3.0» in the The Arts and Design Promotion (FAD) in Barcelona and exposes REVOLVER at the Vanguardia Gallery in Bilbao, during the IV Festival of Photography and Video Foconorte.
In 2011 exposes individually at Tatiana Kourochkina's art gallery, placed in Barcelona, the exhibition «Nadie quiere ser parte de una ficción y menos aún si esa ficción es real» (No one wants to be part of a fiction, and even less so if that fiction is real), curated by Valentín Roma.
At the beginning of 2014 presents his exhibition project «Cada vez que me despisto estamos aquí» (Every time I get lost, we are here), at PazYcomedias gallery, Valencia.
